I have been going through PSUs like no one's business. Just yesterday I lost another one, that's 3 in 4 months. They have all been really cheap power supplies and I think that is more than likely the reason. Now I need a new one and haven't got the slightest idea what to look for! I don't really want to spend over 50 dollars, so please keep that in mind. Here's the specs for my system. Please give me some advice on what to look for, and maybe an explanation as to why these things keep dying on me! Thanks in advance.

Motherboard - ECS nforce9m-a
Processor - Athlon 64 X2 7750
Graphics Card - HIS HD 4830
One CD drive, and one HDD.

30 amps @ 12 volts is plenty of power for your system. And before everyone writes back and says the specs say 2 rails totaling 35 amps, read the label. It says total 12 volt power is 360 watts.

Stick with the Earthwatts line. Avoid the Antec Basiq. They cut too many corners to meet their price point.

If you feel nervous about ordering such a small PSU, get a 500 watt Earthwatts.

I run,

Asus P5N-E SLI
Pentium D 930 oc'ed to 3.6
8800 GTS 512 OC ( consumes as much power as an oc'ed 55nm GTX260 )
2 x 1g Ballistix Tracers
2 x 160g WD Raid 0
Dual DVD drives
floppy drive
3 x 120mm fans
1 x 92mm fan

on one, so yes, I'm sure 430 watts is enough.

That definitely doesn't cost $50.

You guys really think all I need is 400 watts? I don't KNOW what I need, but I have just ALWAYS shot for at least 450. And the video is dead on, they all lasted a few weeks at least.. but the point still stands.

wiiings12 - As others have correctly pointed out a high quality 400 watt power supply is more than enough to power your system. Your pc is not a seriously overclocked high end system that uses a lot of power. The point to remember is to get a high quality psu. The Antec Earthwatts EA450 that Delluser1 recommended is a very good power supply and at $49.99 plus free shipping it is an excellent value. It is within your budget and it will serve you well.
