Yeah, see, this deck isn't so much a "module". Like half the deck is
potence. It is just that the way the potence is used is kind of
questionable.

de ja vu!

seems like you came to a similar concept that i had a few weeks (or was
it months?) back. you can probably dig up my deck on the message boards
of the path of blood. check the general deck forum for all the other
non-assamite decks.

was mine good? well, everyone told me it wasn't, so i guess it wasn't.
but you can learn some stuff from there i guess. i found the potence
combat angle rather card intensive and has the potential to choke, but
your base thrown gate module has serious potential.

i was a bit more greedy and direct. i focused on obfuscate evil.
disguise out an agg poke weapon (ivory bows and blow torches work well)
and throw out amaranths. either you have the archon on (hence immune to
diablerie blood hunt) or have enough votes on the table to null any fear
of diablerie. and the owl familiars are there to see if they have s:ce.
if they don't, oh well, torp 'em. if they do, oh well, everyone knows
what they have and you flush out a s:ce. i'd try to bargain favors out
of the archon rush if you can.

it was called something like Nos Princes g1/2, probably somewhere on the
2nd page of that board by now. maybe it can help you.

So, it's a BIG module? *wry smile* It's still fairly pluggable, either
way. I just look at all my decks as composed of modules. This is the
intercept module (Permacepts, master and otherwise, transient, etc). I
gather that 'module' in common usage is a small element that can be
introduced to most/any decks? I've just seen it used to refer to 24+
card selections previously (Thaum discussion), and this had 38.
Where's the line drawn?

I tend to draw the line any time someone uses the word "module", as I think
it tends to be used kind of excessively, but that is 'cause I am a
crumudgeon :)

This being said, I generally look at the word "module" as refering to a
small interchangeable chunk of cards, rather than the main focus of the
deck. But then again, I tend not to use the word, so I'm not really a good
judge...

I have had some success i my play group with a Nos/!Nos Vote deck with hit
back as combat defense.
I am at work now so i can't post it and it is built under 4CL, still if i
remember correct i have sweeped a table when i visited a NCL playgroup
when i was traveling related to my job.

It is built around Cailian and Emerson (the ones with PRE) and use Carrion
Crows, and long range strikes, sometimes increased strength and
manuevers and heavy stealth (i.e. forgotten labyrint) to get votes through.

Why is anyone ever going to block you?

If they block you, you beat them up. If you don't block them and they aren't
trying to beat you up, then you don't get beaten up. It is never a good
idea, in, well, any kind of deck, to rely on your opponent to block you.
'Cause if blocking you makes your deck work, your opponents will stop
blocking you. And there really isn't that much you have to block.

I built and played a hidden lurker deck with some degree of success,
but the trick is you need to play strong actions that are directed at
your prey to cause the block. My deck was dominate weenies with
Samantha who used hidden lurker. On the build up, she'd get Zillah's
Tears, I'd have Mylan out and I also had a couple precognizant
mobilities for the few vamps with auspex.

The weenies would rush bleed forward, if blocked, Samantha would bin
the vamp (using blood rage if they had fortitude).

The problem was that whilst it did have the ability to bin vampires, it
was not very good at ousting players. Sure, vamps went to torpor, but
by then, I had usually used all my available bleed actions. Then they
would just rescue themselves or be rescued.

I always thought that Caliean would make a better hidden lurker. Set
range close, punch for 1, disarm, decapitate.... AND he has dominate.
And he can get an Eternal Vigilance to help defend the fort.

True for many situations, of course.

However, if there is an opposing vote deck on the table, there's no way
to control if it's Camarilla, Independent (less likely - fewer options)
or Sabbat. So you can just as easily find yourself on a table where it
isn't so hot.

Then, lots of vote defence doesn't rely on titles - Delaying Tactics is
the canonical popular card, I like Vox Senis (votes to Methuselah),
others like Vox Domini (limited, but good). When votes fail, you might
prefer another copy of them in a deck to a Closed Session.

Also, as an action modifier, Closed Session/Private Audience is
vulnerable to D.I. - less of an issue, because Bewitching Oration and
Awe are too. But, if your vote aggression relies on Closed Session, one
D.I. hits it. If it relies on BO/Awe, you can play one, DI, play the
other.

Of course, the Nosferatu (who you talk about in the post) can try for
Animal Magnetism. But, there are 12 Nosferatu (or Nosferatu Antitribu)
with a title that could play Closed Session or Private Audience who also
have Obf/Ani.

However, the [1/2] Nossie only have two vamps with OBF/ANI - Sheldon and
Harrod. [2/3] get Harrod, Casino Reeds and Cock Robin. The !Nossie get
3 in group 2 (Yong Sun, Yong Sun++, Cailean) and one in group 3 (Aeron).
All of these are big vampires, though, making it awkward for them.

Update changes: I decided the deck would be less vulnerable and more
reproducible if I was certain to get a prince in my opening crypt draw.
Consequentally, I took all of the Praxis Seixures out of the deck. I am
still pondering Marty.

Master Cards 13
Potencex7

Actually played the deck in my regular play group today. I greatly
enjoyed the games and liked the way the deck performed. In game one my
Predator and Grand Predator where both playing combat decks. I brought
up Agrippina, bleed for one, and gave her Superior potence before my
Predator uncovered her Haven, enhanced his strength twice and threw a
six point gate (compared to my 2 point reprisal). I brought up
Nikolaus, whilst my grand predator torpored, and was torpored by, my
predators minion. I was able to then negotiate with my Predator, who
was down some pool and hurting, but had intercept and plenty of combat
that if he would let me alone for a turn or two I would Anathema my
grand predators big minion and let him gain the pool. He bought it, and
I got to Third Tradtion, rescue, and Con Boon.

By the time it came back around to me again both my predator and grand
predator had nothing but torpored minions and my predator transferred
out. I called an Anathema on my Prey's minion, bleed him, and
transferred Marty out. My Prey had the Anathemaed minion reach Golconda
for 10 (ouch), and bleed out his prey. It was a three player game at
this point which was quickly about to become a two player game since my
Predator didn't even have a minion up. On my turn I Anathema'd another
of my Prey's minions and burned him (using Marty's press ability-
yea!). From there my Prey ousted his prey and then conceeded the game
to me as I torpored/burned all of his minions. That left me tied with 2
VPs with my prey.

In the second game my Prey was playing an Anneke based Intercept deck
and my Predator was playing an infernal sneak and bleed deck. My deck
got out and developed early. I brought up Duck first, then Murat. Murat
blocked one of my minions equip actions and gated him for 4. Murat
Third Traditioned, and I then con booned, and brought up Koko and
Agrippina- for a total of 5 minions two games in a row! My prey brought
up Anneke, blocked one of my actions and concealed a Sniper Rifle into
play. He would Sniper me for two and I would gate him for two.

My Predator bleed me for a lot (he was under no pressure as my grand
predator was a newbie who did not use any minion phase actions). I was
down to 2 on my turn with an Anathema. I had torpored two of my prey's
minions with 2nd Traditions off of Murat followed by gates. I declared
Agrippina Nosfeatu Justicar which gave me table vote lock. I then tried
to choose between Anatheming Anneke or my Predators 10 cap infernal
bleeder (who had 2 pool). I suggested that my Prey let me Anathema my
Predator and go backwards, and he seemed agreeable but then 2nd
traidtioned and blocked my vote. We hit each other for 2 but I finally
drew into a Hidden Lurker and torpored my Prey's last mnion. I drew
into another Con Boon and gained 5 pool to go to 7 with a board of
tapped minions and a Predator with 2 run down Infernal guys.

As it turned out, my Predator bleed me out for 7 exactly and I was
ousted. All and all, I was pretty happy with how it performed. I am now
contemplating switching out one of the Murats with another Selma (to
make more use of the Rat's Warnings) and putting in maybe two skin of
steels.

I also thought about it and I am switching out a Fragment of the Book
of Nod for The Barrens. It is more useful and it encourages people to
take it, which allows me to retake it and set up the Hidden Lurker. I
am also taking out the Rat's Warning in favor of Wakes since no one in
the deck has Superior Animalism (outside of Celebros). Since making
that change I am switching the Selma back to Murat. So the deck is now:

After some further playtesting, I am taking out the Anarch
Troublemaker. He was really only in the deck because this deck has a
vulnerability to ranged damage attacks and something like an Ivory Bow
could spell trouble. So the thinking was the Anarch Troublemaker would
take care of any bows or other annoying equipment. However, under the
philosophy that "I really want people to block me so that I can Lurker
them" I am adding the Archanum Investigator. He is an ally that can as
a directed action (no stealth) burn any equipment controlled by
predator or prey. He seems like a perfect card to make someone want to
block. In it's place in the Mastercard slot is Powerbase Montreal. This
card is great because it also makes people want to block you should
they steal it.

I am taking out the Elder Library and replacing it with a Dreams of the
Sphinx. I am taking out the two Archons because my poor Princes seem
to have such full calendars when they come out that they have a hard
time getting around to stuff and it's a hard vote to pass. In their
place I am putting Year of Fortune and the Arcanum Investigator I
talked about above. I have also come to the conclusion that Trumped-Up
Charges is better than Red List in this deck and it's a pretty easy
vote to pass unless you are targetting the political player.

So now the deck list is:
1 Calebros
1 Murat
2 Selma the Repugnant
2 Nikolaus Vermeulen
1 Marty Lechtansi
Duck, Dimple, Koko, Sammy, and Agrippina

Masters 14

I am entertaining the idea of dropping the two Swallowed by the Nights
that remain in the deck (kinda funny to look back and see there were
six at one time) in favor of another Skin of Steel or Hidden Lurker and
a The Labrinth.
