Blizzard Goes Full Steam Ahead on Diablo III PvP

By - Source: Diablofans

Diablo III launcher's public test button has now become activated. Could PvP patch testing be around the corner?

With Diablo III's big 1.0.4 patch bringing legendary item improvements and the paragon leveling system out of the way, the team has finally shifted all focus towards the highly anticipated PvP patch.

When the company announced the game would launch without a PvP system in place, it left gamers pondering when they would be able to duke it out in the arena. Now, four months after its release many Diablo III players have grown impatient and abandoned ship.

Although the recent patch brought a long plenty of incentive to get back into the game, many are still waiting on the elusive PvP patch. Some fans did notice a hidden addition to the recent patch that may provide a glimmer of hope.

Along with the updated client came an updated launcher, now with a "Download Public Test" button. Initially inactive, the button was activated yesterday, though no test is available for download just yet. It may be a stretch, but one could assume Blizzard is preparing itself for a large public test for an upcoming patch.

A dev from the team had this to say on a recent forum post:

We’re going full steam ahead on the PvP patch, which will also include a number of game changes unrelated to PvP, and we look forward to sharing more about that as we get closer to opening up a PTR, where you’ll be able to test out our changes -- and enjoy mercilessly slaughtering one another in the PvP arena.

If the team is really going all out, and the public test button activation was no mistake, we may finally get to test out some PvP in the coming weeks. Has the 1.0.4 patch sucked you back into the Sanctuary? Or are you waiting for the PvP patch to get back into the game?

For some reason I thought D3 was gonna be on Steam. Good thing I read the rest of the title before my brain crapped out from confusion.

    please retitle this story:

"Real Money Auction House Simulator with a horribly repetitive D3 side-game-shell tacked on seeks to lure D2 fans back into the hot-mess... D3 execs are hopeful that a sea of fed-up ex-players will return to spend more real-life money on virtual gear prior to the next nerf."

I tried the adventuring life, didn't care for it, too much pain, not enough profit...

They had a decade to finish this game, incompetent team, only cares about money. Probably spent 90% of their time on RMAH. Basic things like the original Uniques, totally glaring error... they ruined this beloved game in a bad way.

Eh, I'm not done with Diablo 3 yet, it's fun but the world/story needs to be about 4x larger, the repetition is brutal. The 4.0 patch made inferno less frustrating and the items better overall, and PvP should be interesting. So, Blizz, if you want to salvage this game and bring the rest of the players back start sending out some dlc.

Fixed. Although that still won't matter to many including myself.

Compare games like Guild Wars 2, Torchlight 2 and Borderlands 2 up to Diablo 3.

Blizzard managed to do the impossible with math... 2 is greater than 3.
