First-tier motherboard maker Gigabyte Technology is looking to strengthen its own-brand operations in 2006 through distribution channels in emerging markets, such as India, Russia and South America, according to yesterday's Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) citing company executive vice president Richard Ma. Gigabyte plans to migrate all of its motherboard production to follow the EU's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) legislation by the first quarter of this year, said Ma quoted in the paper.
