Samsung launches 32" professional LCD, 4 ms-response performance LCDs

Samsung introduced nine desktop LCDs that target upper mainstream, business and professional markets and come with screen sizes ranging from 17" to 32".

Among the devices are the new models Syncmaster 740BF and 940BF (17" and 19", respectively), which, according to the manufacturer, offer a 4 ms response time, making them two of the fastest displays available on the market today. The monitors come with a wide variety of functions, including the option to store different brightness, contrast and gamma settings for different applications - such as playing games, watching videos or browsing the Internet. The 740BF and 940BF will ship in November for $400 and $500.

For A/V professionals who are looking for a larger screen size, Samsung now offers the 320P model, a 16:9 32" LCD that offers a native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, a 450 cd/m2 brightness level and a 0.5 mm pixel pitch. The display integrates a built-in video-processor for "tiling" displays in 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 1x5 and 5x1 configurations and is available now for $2350 suggested retail.

Other new products include the 970P, a stylish 19" LCD with a 1000:1 contrast ration for $550; the $700 19" 940MW with integrated TV tuner; the 740T and 940T for corporate applications ($380 and $500) as well as the 21" 214T and the 24" 244T large-screen desktop LCDs that will retail for $860 and $1700, respectively.
