The Daily Mail today reports that Chinese scientists at the Purple Mountain Observatory in Nanjing claim to have recorded 40 minutes of clear UFO footage while observing total solar eclipse on July 22.
The Mail reports that the scientists were not the only ones to see the unidentified flying object in the skies over Deqing in Guandong Province. Dozens of students are said to have also observed and photographed the object.
Purple Mountain Observatory says it's "organizing the manpower to deal with the data" and that it will take one year to come up with any results.

'Currently manpower is being organised to deal with this data, complete the data analysis and reveal the scientific results. This will take at least one year's time to finalised'Purple Mountain Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences Fellow Ji Hai-sheng said at present it is impossible to speculate what the unidentified object is.'However research has started.'
