PCMCIA: Broad acceptance of ExpressCard likely in H2 2007

published Originally codenamed Newcard (introduced under this name in February 2003 at the Intel Developer Forum in San Jose), ExpressCard technology represents the new generation of hot-pluggable I/O expansion cards that the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA) is positioning to replace CardBus as the preferred solution for notebooks and desktop computers.
DigiTimes.com talked to Brad Saunders, the PCMCIA chairman and senior mobile systems architect of Intel's mobility group, to discuss the status of the ExpressCard standard, its future and Taiwan's role in its development.
