This Laptop Pad Promises To Protect from Radiation

Icaro Innovations launched an updated version of its popular DefenderPad laptop pad on Monday that promises to help protect laptop users from potentially harmful Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR).

That's right. Your favorite notebook or Ultrabook is likely dumping a nasty cloud of radiation into your lap which could potentially cause fertility problems in both men and women, and DNA fragmentation. DefenderPad supposedly blocks nearly 100 percent of that EMR. Just imagine it's that lead-based apron you're forced to wear during dental X-rays.

Not only does DefenderPad bounce evil radiation from your delicates, it also greatly reduces heat emitted by laptops, tablets and other modern devices. This protection is due to an improved thermal-resistive and softer surface which, according to the company, prevents possible skin irritation, rashes and burns due to hot laptops. It also helps prevent what's called Toasted Skin Syndrome which is explained by NBC Nightly News here.

In addition to its preventative features, the new DefenderPad provides new color choices of black, blue and pink -- providing three ways users can dress up their lap while working away from the desk. It's also an FCC Certified Lab Tested solution, making it an ideal all-in-one replacement for lap desks, lap trays and cooling pads.

"Medical experts like Dr. Sanjay Gupta and Dr. Joseph Mercola have both expressed the importance of limiting your exposure to laptop radiation and heat especially for men and pregnant women," says CEO Daniel T. DeBaun. "Today, adults and particularly children are exposed to long hours of laptop work for our jobs and for school work. Being a father and a businessman, I felt that there was a need to have a solution that virtually eliminates the harmful radiation produced from laptops and other portable devices while providing a useful workspace."

Icaro said the new DefenderPad has a light and slim design, making it easy to slip into a computer bag, briefcase and backpack. It also gently rests with the contour of the lap, keeping laptops and tablets stable. It's available for $99.99 now at SkyMall, Amazon, DefenderPad.com and other retailers.

DNA defragger not included. Sorry.

Wow has there been an outbreak of leg cancer or something? You encounter radiation every day. If you are so afraid, i recommend you go into a sterilized box and hide.

Heat is EMR... so this pad prevents you from burning your legs... save the $100 and get a better laptop.

So these people made a 100$ pad to help people..
Solution binder filled with aluminum = 1$

Also don't aren't most laptops have those metallic sheets on the bottom of the interior of the casing that does just that? Also wouldn't the fcc have disallowed the products that emit too much emr?

I like this part: "potentially harmful Electromagnetic Radiation". So much research done here :)

So if it bounces it off the pad and not into your lap, then it's coming back at your face? Rather be sterile than have brain cancer.

Hmm..I knew about cell phones giving off radiation, but never really thought about laptops. My teenager plays games on his laptop on his lap all day!

If your laptop is getting uncomfortably hot, the last thing you want to put under it is a layer of thermal EMR-blocking insulation... much better off with a laptop cooling pad.

If the cooling pad is made of stamped sheet aluminum, it will provide just as much EMR blocking too.

Laptops produce ridiculously small amounts of radiation, excluding the WiFi and Bluetooth radios, plus cellular if present. Those are all up at the top of the screen.

In other words, this is pointless.
