A new stock alert from Best Buy has notified us that there is a new shipment of Nintendo Switch 2s available to order online. They've been very rare since launching, due to the massive demand for Nintendo's latest handheld gaming device. The Switch 2 has proven to be the must-have gaming item to own this year, with pre-orders and any stock evaporating in record time from shelves and warehouses since the official launch date.
Although there have been regular restocks of the Switch 2, demand for the game console has remained high, and if you haven't stayed vigilant, the stock disappeared before you could even add it to the shopping cart. This is a great opportunity to pick up the new Switch 2 before heading off to college. Portable entertainment for your dorm room, and a good way to relax after all that studying.
Even though Best Buy has received new stock, we have no idea how many units are available and how limited this stock update might be. You should be able to order online easily at the moment, but you will have to check individual stores for in-store pickup availability. The consoles on offer are for both the standalone Switch 2 and the Switch 2 bundle, which is the console, plus a digital code for the Mario Kart World game. These are both available at MSRP, with the standalone console retailing for $449 and the bundle retailing for $499. There is a new bundle arriving soon, which features the Switch 2 console and a digital code for the latest Pokémon Legends: Z-A RPG game, but this is only available for pre-order at present.
The Nintendo Switch 2 replaces the original Switch and drops the OLED screen for a 7.9-inch screen. The display features an increased 1080p pixel resolution, up from the original Switch's 720p, but when combined with the Switch dock, the Switch 2 has the potential to play compatible games up to 4K on your television. Without the dock, the Switch 2's LCD screen can go up to 120 frames per second and have HDR, depending on the software.
We have no idea how long the Nintendo Switch 2 consoles will be available, but new stock does seem to be starting to hit shelves more frequently as supplies catch up to the initial demand. Be aware that these offers are all at MSRP prices and are not deals or price reductions. Should you see the list price above the MSRP prices listed above, I would recommend waiting for the prices to return to MSRP.
