Less than two years after the release of Sniper Elite 3, the team at Rebellion is ready to reveal the next series chapter. Appropriately named Sniper Elite 4, the developers showed off the first teaser trailer for the upcoming game.
Sniper Elite 4 takes place in Italy 1943, one year after Sniper Elite 3's events in North Africa. The short video showed parts of the Italian countryside as well as enemy troops moving around with planes and tanks. There’s also a massive cannon situated on a bridge that may or may not be the main target in the game.
We also know a little bit about the story. The sniper, Karl Fairburne, must help the Italian Resistance fight against the Nazi forces stationed in Italy. If he does not complete the mission, the Allies may not be able to take the country back from Hitler’s forces. The game will include a campaign for one to two players, as well as co-op and competitive multiplayer modes.
Other than that, Rebellion didn’t provide any additional details about the game. However, we do know that it’s coming out at some point in 2016. It will be available on the Xbox One, PC and Steam.
