AMD to reveal roadmap details on 1 June
AMD has not been very talkative about its future product recently. While rival Intel is aggressively educating industry, press and the public about its product plans for 2006 and 2007, there is little what we know today about upcoming products beyond the planned 65 nm transition late in 2006 or early 2007.
This may change on 1 June, when AMD holds its 2006 Technology Day. President and chief operating officer Dirk Meyer will provide details about AMD's "long-term technology direction and roadmap to define and drive the future of the microprocessor market," the company said today.
This Technology Day isn't held one day too early and we are awaiting AMD's plans on how to counter Intel's Core 2 Duo and quad-core processors and how it will take advantage about the growing opportunity in the notebook market. Tom's Hardware and TG Daily will be covering the event. Keep checking back for news from AMD's 2006 Technology Day.
