Formosa Epitaxy rolls out "superbright" green LED chip

Formosa Epitaxy has rolled out a new green LED chip for use in RGB LEDs applied in large-size panel backlighting, with the company claiming the product is the world's brightest green LED.

In general, the efficiency of green LED chip is far behind that of red and blue LEDs, so a RGB LED does not consist of equal amounts of the various LEDs, Wei indicated.
