Everlight Claims LED Backlighting In Notebook Applications To Reach 70% By 2011
Next newsWhile the penetration rate of 7" LCD panels utilizing LED backlighting will reach 62% in 2008, the penetration rate of notebook panels adopting LED backlighting will only hit 15% this year, but increase to 33% in 2009 and 71% in 2011, according to Robert Yeh, chairman of Everlight Electronics, as cited in today Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN).In related news, the penetration rate of LED backlighting utilized in large-size TVs will rise from 0.5% in 2007 to 1.2% in 2008, and exceed 10% in 2011, noted Yeh.
