Epic Games, PCF Announce Bulletstorm
Epic and People Can Fly's next FPS sounds tasty.
Although Gears of War 3 has already been hinted as Epic's next big game, the Raleigh-based development studio Monday teamed up with People Can Fly (Painkiller series) to announce Bulletstorm, a new first-person shooter IP--set to launch in 2011--that incorporates "kill with skill" gameplay.
The story centers on two ex-members of an elite band of mercenaries called Dead Echo. Exiled to the far reaches of the galaxy by Dead Echo's commander, Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato must fight their way off the prison planet and find a way back to exact revenge. Players take the role of Hunt and are equipped with "an arsenal of over-the-top combat moves and outrageously large guns."
"Bulletstorm's array of distinct 'skillshots' produces unprecedented levels of frantic gameplay and yell-inducing satisfaction," Epic and PCF said. "The skillshot system rewards players for inciting mayhem in the most creative way possible. The more insane the skillshot, the more points players collect to upgrade their character and unlock weapons, which then allows them to execute even more creative moves and exaggerated skillshots."
Now here's the good news: Bulletstorm is not only heading to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but to the PC as well. For more information, check out the game's Facebook and Twitter pages. Game Informer also sports Bulletstorm artwork on the May cover (as seen to the right), and in all honestly, seems to pay homage to Doom.
"It’s impressive stuff," Game Informer admits, "and after reading our 10-page feature you’ll have an idea why Epic Games bought a majority stake in People Can Fly after seeing it demoed for the first time."

knowom If it's anything like league of legends skill shots and general skill requirements to play it should be good especially if it's a heavily team based game.Reply -
megamanx00 I guess it will give you style points like in Strangle Hold. Hopefully it's better than Strangle Hold, which, while not bad, was not as good as I thought it was going to be.Reply -
bad_code its not news that's its coming to PC. It will be console like and dumbed down for them and you will have to play with stupid powerless weapons until you have sunk half your life into playing the game and it will be limited to very few online players and you won't be able to create your own server on a PC anyway. The game will have to be connected to the internet all the time to play and when the servers get shutdown in 5 years you will be screwed. I am still playing quake 2 and UT2004 because I can make my own servers and have 32-64 computer opponents or friends at one time.Reply -

Read: Bulletstorm will be made for the consoles, with an afterthought port to PC.
