Kazam: A New Smartphone Company Based in the UK
There's a new smartphone manufacturer in Europe.
A pair of former HTC execs have set out to launch a brand new mobile startup in the United Kingdom. Dubbed Kazam, the company is actually a smartphone manufacturer that will focus on the European market. The company hasn't actually got any hardware to speak of but Crave reports that we should see some Kazam branded phones by the end of this year.
Speaking to Crave, Kazam CEO Michael Coombes said the company hopes to provide 'quality smartphones that are accessible to everyone,' and while we don't have any idea of what to expect, the former HTC UK executive seemed to hint that Kazam won't be focusing all of its energies on just one product.
"We believe your smart phone is a digital reflection of who you are, and since we are all different, it's important that we don't adopt a one size fits all approach," said Coombes.
Coombes previously acted as Head of Sales for HTC UK and is joined by former head of marketing for HTC UK, James Atkins. Atkins will act as chief marketing officer for the new company. Kazam will be based in London but will offer its products in Europe, too. No word on if the company ever plans to expand beyond Europe, but that's probably a bit of a premature question at this stage in the game.
