Leaked Photos of Rumored Nexus 8 Tablet Surface Online
We've been hearing rumors about the Nexus 8 for quite some time, but now we might have a glimpse of the real deal. Chinese website mydrivers.com has posted photos showing what may be the Nexus 8. Most of the tablet's chassis is obscured by a case, but the screen is clearly visible. Some rumored specs were also included in the leak.
According to the posting, the Nexus 8 will come with Android 4.5, 3 GB of RAM and a Qualcomm 64-bit processor. This processor in particular is interesting, because that conflicts with other rumors suggesting an Intel Moorefield chip would be running the show. This would be the third tablet in the Nexus line and the first 8-inch device. While the Nexus 7 made a strong debut in 2012, it's lost a little ground to other small form factor tablets like the iPad Mini.
While the rumor may be just that, we probably won't have to wait too long to see if it was right. The 2014 I/O conference starts on June 25, and if the Nexus 8 is indeed launching soon, we'll no doubt see it there.
