UK Google TV Users to Get Music, Movies Next Week

Google has announced that Google Play music and movies are officially on their way to Google TV in the United Kingdom. Google announced the news via the official Google TV Google+ account yesterday. The company said that starting November 13, music and movies from Google Play will be available on Google TVs in the UK as well as Germany and France.

Google also apologized for an early post that promised a launch spanning additional countries. The company advised followers to 'stay tuned' but didn't elaborate on why Canada and Australia, which were mentioned in a previous post regarding the November 13 launch, have been left out in the cold for the moment.

While Google TV has been available to consumers in the United States for nearly two years, the Smart TV platform just appeared in the UK this year. The addition of movies and music from Google Play will strengthen Google's TV's position when battling already established services like LoveFilm and Netflix.

Google owns YouTube but I cannot stand how the playlists on YouTube are so screwed up; being out of order and incomplete without telling us. It has actually backfired and made me wary of being a Google customer.
