O2 UK Suffers Network Outage

UK wireless carrier has confirmed that it suffered a network outage on Thursday. O2 customers began experiencing issues on Thursday morning. At 8 p.m., the company said it was still working on a fix for the remaining affected customers, but the company has yet to detail what caused the outage or how widespread the issue is. The company's website simply states that some customers are experiencing difficulty using their mobile phone. Pocket-Lint reports that some customers are having issues with data while others have bigger problems.

O2 suffered a major outage in the summer of 2012, and again in October of that same year. The latter incident left millions of customers without service, though O2 did not offer compensation to users affected by the outage (previous outages have seen the company offer customers discounts on their subscription) Not too long after the October outage, O2 promised to spent £10 million on network stability.

Hopefully O2 will offer some explanation as to what went wrong on Thursday. Stay tuned. We'll keep you posted.
