Nvidia GT206 and GT212 Spotted in ELSA Roadmap

There has been some talk about Nvidia not releasing any new GPUs any time soon, but ELSA’s presentation slip could offer a peek at what’s next.
A recently leaked ELSA slide, if legitimate, indicates two new GPU’s scheduled to arrive on the shelves. The GT206 and GT212.
From what we can see in the leaked slide, the GT206 will be based on 55nm and the GT212 on 40nm. Pending the validity of this projection chart, the GT206 is slated to replace the GTX260 around the first quarter 2009, then with the GT212 replacing the GTX280 closer to the second quarter 2009.
Interestingly enough the GT212 is specified as TSMC’s 40nm manufacturing process. Other technical data and cost estimations are yet to be learned. If this leak indeed reflects what is to come, then we can more than likely expect more leaked data or publicized information shortly.

Anything to say were coming in with something new. This doesnt show anything at all, at least until 40nm, and thats 1H not 1qtr

I already knew nVidia and ATi were both moving to that,so I'm not really suprised at all *shrugs*
Is AMD's 45nm fab process come to come before or after TSMC's 40nm?

Its funnt. They had the top cards for a long time. We got very little info before G200 was resleased, and by that I mean 5-6 months ahead. Now its seems, they cant stop all these "leaks" heheh
Jaydee fails to realize up until the 4870 x2 Nvidia was still on top.
eklipz this is just the gpu in house numbers... the product names are more likely going to be GTX270, GTX290 or GTX3x0

If I were just a plain consumer who didn't know any better, I'd have thought that the GTX280 would certainly be faster than the GT212 (Based on the name).
Except that GT212 will not be it's name =) I would expect GTX290. GT212 is chip code like GTX260-280 are GT200. Plain consumers won't know the new boards will be same as the GT212, they will see GTX290 and know it is faster then GTX280 (or should be).
Hmmm... I was expecting gt200 series low and middle range versions first. Surprising that they desided to forget them completely this time.
It seems to be so, that NVidia does not believe that their low end versions would sell well enough, if their high end products are not in the Top?
Or is it so that 4650 and 4670 are too good, so it's no use of releasing gt200 series middle range versions, but skip directly to next generation?

Yeah about that... they probably realized that with the enormous die size they won't be able to produce cost-effective "value" offerings based on the GT200 for the time being, so they are probably skipping the whole thing and basing their value segment around the G9x based cards.
That's the only smart thing they've done so far in the past few months if you ask me...
