ATI Radeon HD 5970 2GB: The World's Fastest Graphics Card

ATI Radeon HD 5970 2GB: The World's Fastest Graphics Card
Despite the successful launches of its Radeon HD 5870, 5850, 5770, and 5750 DirectX 11-class graphics cards, there was one title ATI still couldn't claim: the world's fastest discrete board. ATI circles back to take that title with a dual-GPU stunner. Read More

Nvidia To Bring WHQL-certified PhysX Drivers On August 5th

Next news
7:10 PM - July 23, 2008 by Theo Valich

Santa Clara (CA) - After demonstrating beta drivers featuring GPU-accelerated physics on 3DMark Vantage and Unreal Tournament III (GeForce GTX and 9800 boards), Nvidia is getting ready to release the official Windows driver.

This driver will support PhysX acceleration on all capable GeForce 8, 9 and GTX cards, while carrying Microsoft’s WHQL certificate. More importantly, the new ForceWare driver is expanding PhysX support to all currently available PhysX titles on the market, including Ghost Recon 2: Advanced Warfighter, Warmonger and Cell Factor: Revolution.

We expect that downloads of free games such as Warmonger and Cell Factor will actually spike once again in August, since now those games will be playable on a variety of cards.

There may be some complaints about about this. But for me, I'm happy/suprised this works at all.
Now if M$ can finish Direct Physics to work with ANY DX10+ GPU.....

Also benchmarks please for how this works on old PhysX games and new titles designed to use "normal" GPUs.

Yeah, I'm curious too what the benchmarks will show with and w/o the pysx.

I'm pretty impressed with this, not even something NV had to do. Hopefully it will increase the lifespan of my GTS 640s!

As far as I know all CUDA enabled GPUs will support this.

Just 12 (or less) hours to go!

Um, yeah, seriously. I'm hoping it didn't get pushed back to September for their "Big Bang II" for Forceware 180.

Well I guess these have been pushed back then...

Who confirmed that these were being released?
