Nexus 7 2 Spotted in UK Retailer's System

We already know that Google's new Nexus 7 is on its way to Best Buy in the States, but it looks like UK retailers are just as bad at keeping secrets. Pocket-Lint reports that Nexus 7 2.0 has been spotted in Carphone Warehouse's inventory. The site received an anonymous tip regarding the discover along with photographic evidence of not one but two (16 GB and 32 GB variations) Nexus 7 devices in the retailer's system.

Previous leaks from US sources say the tablet will go on sale in the USA before the end of the month. Specifically, Best Buy will apparently have the tablet from July 30, while Staples will have it the following day, on July 31. The renders from the Best Buy ad don't say much with regard to what's under the hood, but clearly shows the rear-facing camera mounted at the top-left on the rear panel, and an all-black, thinner chassis. The device also appears to be a bit longer than the original to support the added camera, has a thinner border on the sides, and features horizontal Nexus branding (which suggests Google thinks we'll mostly be using this one in landscape mode).

Still no official word from Google or Asus, despite all these leaks, but rumored specs include a quad-core CPU clocked to 1.5 GHz, a higher resolution display, and a 5-megapixel camera. Stay tuned and we'll keep you posted!

Neat, I believe I see speaker grills at the top and bottom.

Still a bit strange that all these 'leaks' are coming from retailers. last I checked aren't they still trying to empty out their inventory of the old Nexus 7? I know the Nexus 7 is a best selling tablet, but I still don't see people buying the old one with the new one coming out in a week, and after that they'll need to swallow a price drop...

Seems like they would send out a preview well before it is released. I wonder if the nexus 10 will be upgraded too.
