Just when we think Snooki of "Jersey Shore" fame will disappear from the headlines now that her spin-off show "Snooki & Jwoww" is in hiatus, she is once again in the news -- this time to launch her line of fashionable tech accessories called Snooki Couture at CES.
Nicole Polizzi, Snooki's real name, partnered with iHip to bring her larger-than-life style to mobile accessories for women who want their tech gear to look as good as they do. Her line is anything but subtle with green rhinestone-covered handsets in the shape of a high heel, feathers on over-the-ear headphones, to zebra-print iPad covers.
It sounds obnoxiously over-the-top but she might be onto something here.
Let's face it: most headphones are not designed to complement a man in a suit, much less a woman in a cocktail dress who wants to listen to music without having to mess up her hair. The Snooki Couture headphones offer the type of fashion-forward headbands you'd find in women's clothing stores, plus they are interchangeable so the headphones will look appropriate in more occasions than just for going to the gym.
Unfortunately, the iHip team did not let attendees try out the headphones so we have no idea how they sound or feel, or any technical details for that matter. Considering that none of the Snooki Couture products will retail above $60 per the press release, don't expect these headphones to rival the Parrot Ziks. That said, we can't wait to give them a try when they hit stores and iHip.com some time this year.
