Whoops: UK Retailer Puts Nexus 4 Up for Preorder

Google has a big event scheduled for Monday. Though the company hasn't specified what we can expect at this event, rumors and leaks over the last couple of months have suggested we'll see a brand new Nexus phone, as well as a new Nexus tablet, and possibly a 32 GB model of the current Nexus 7. While the tablets have yet to be confirmed, UK retailer Carphone Warehouse has let the cat out of the bag on the new Nexus smartphone.

Carphone Warehouse today opened up pre-orders for the LG Nexus device that Google has yet to announce. Though the company has since taken down the Nexus 4 product page, it was live long enough to confirm the rumored specs as well as the 'Nexus 4' name people have been talking about over the last few weeks.

Previous rumors said the Nexus 4 would come with a quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon SoC, a 4.7-inch 1280 x 768 display, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, an 8MP camera on the back, a 1.3MP camera on the front, and a 2100mAh battery. Indeed, the Carphone Warehouse blunder confirms the presence of the almost all of these, the only difference being storage space. CW says 8 GB while rumors had indicated the phone would have 16 GB.

Just a few more days until it's all official, and Carphone Warehouse has a ship date of October 30, which suggests the phone will launch immediately after Google's event.

Smartphones with 4GB of storage could be nice too if it means cheaper price. I can always buy microSD if needed.
