Ofcom has released its latest complaints data detailing the most complained about telecoms companies for the period of April to June. Every quarter, the UK telecoms watchdog will release information on the most complained about broadband and phone service providers.
This year, TalkTalk topped the list as the most complained about landline company with 0.53 complaints per 1,000 customers. Still, things are improving, with Ofcom noting that this is the fewest number of complaints that TalkTalk has received about its landline services since Ofcom first began publishing complaints data in 2010. Unfortunately, TalkTalk also topped the list for most complained about broadband provider with 0.42 complaints per 1,000 customers (down from 0.56 per 1,000 in the last quarter). Most of these complaints were about line faults and other service issues.
As far as mobile phone service is concerned, the most complained about network among on-contract customers was Ofcom 3UK with 0.19 complaints per 1,000 customers. Broadening that category to include both pay-as-you-go and pay-monthly customers still places 3UK as the most complained about network.
Overall, O2 received the fewest complaints among all mobile providers, while Sky attracted the fewest complaints in the broadband category. The least complained about provider in the landline department was Virgin Media.
