Apple CEO Tim Cook Teases 'New Product Category'
Something for the rumor mill to chew on.
Apple has never really been one to show its hand. The company is known for keeping a tight lid on any talk of upcoming products, refusing to comment on rumors, speculation or leaked photos. However, every now and again, the company throws us a bone, teasing us about what it's got in the pipeline.
The Verge reports that Apple CEO Tim Cook today promised some surprises for the fall and 2014. Specifically, Cook is said to have alluded to the launch of an entirely new product. According to the Verge, Cook teased "the potential of exciting new product categories," and said the teams at Apple are "hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software, and services that we can't wait to introduce in the fall and into 2014." Of course, the mention of 2014 means Apple may not launch this new product in the fall.
So what could it be? Rumors of an Apple TV have been on the horizon for a long time. However, there's also been a lot of talk of an Apple smartwatch as of late, as well as an iRadio. Apple announced the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S in the fall of 2011 and 2012, respectively, but the company is expected to announce an iPhone 5S this coming summer.

jankeke A watch with a tynier screen than an ihpone and that you have to charge every few hours* ? No thanks.Reply -
jankeke * I can't imagine it have a battery with enough power to last more than a couple of hours due to the limited syze of a wrist watch. Unless they make it bulky but I really doubt that.Reply -
JOSHSKORN Another Apple article! Great time to mention once again how much I hate the new comment system with its slow loading and error messages at Tom's and that the only thing good about it is there's no 20 thumb up limit.Reply -
ubercake Let me guess... A 6MP camera (as opposed to a 5) on an iPad? Or maybe a bottom facing camera(?)?Reply
Or a new type of power/docking connection on the next iPhone rendering all of your current accessories useless?
Or square-cornered circle-shaped iPods?
Or smart feminine hygiene products?
I can't wait for the latest Apple innovation! These are exciting times we live in! -
bigpinkdragon286 I laugh every time I see this guy's picture as he reminds me of Herb from "Two and a Half Men."Reply
