Apple Store Goes Down, New MacBooks Inbound?

All month people have been speculating about the possibility of refreshed MacBook Pros using Intel’s new Sandy Bridge chips and Light Peak technology. Though Intel’s got it’s own event planned for today (and we’re almost certain it’s a Light Peak event) there’s been no announcement from Apple about a MacBook Pro refresh going down.

Well, this morning things got a little more interesting when the following image appeared on Apple.com:

It’s standard procedure for the Apple store to go down during product refreshes. Now all we have to do is wait for it to come back...

Seriously, THREE posts about Apple in a row. HP released 10 machines earlier this week and that had 1 post. Apple hasn't even released yet and we're on the third article.

    Come on guys.... :/

P.s. I cannot stand visiting Engadget due to the obvious Apple love but still love Toms

There is only one apple on this planet and we all have to cherish it. Now bow down and say you're sorry!

Am I the only one who finds it a so funny that Apple needs to close it's store to add new articles? That's impressive technology : imagine how it would look like if Amazon had to shut down for ten minutes every time they add a new article to their catalog ;-)

How about eBay trying to shut down every time a seller post a new item?

I'm not a big apple fan, but one thing the company has mastered is how to make people talk....... word of mouth, whether it be good or bad, is fantastic. Them shutting down their site for a morning costs them some sales, but those people will be back when the site comes back up and the meantime its got all the techsites going nuts talking about what they are or aren't doing to the site.
