Samsung's New Galaxy Note 10.1 Hits Carphone Warehouse

Samsung last week unveiled the Galaxy Note 10.1, a 10-inch version of the company's hugely successful Galaxy Note tabletphone. Today, Carphone Warehouse announced that it's already got the slate in stock and on sale. The UK retailer has priced the tablet at £399 for the WiFi-only model and £499.99 for the Wi-Fi and 3G version.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 packs a 10.1-inch WXGA display, a 1.4GHz Exynos CPU, 2GB of RAM, up to 32GB of storage, a 5-megapixel camera in the back and a 1.9-megapixel camera up front, USB 2.0, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, Samsung, an S Pen Stylus, and Android 4.0. Samsung is already working on an update that will bring users up to Android 4.1, but it's not clear when this will be available.

Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Note 2, a 5-inch tabletphone, at the end of this month. Though details on this device are fairly scarce, rumors suggest the device will boast a 5.5-inch display (compared to the 5.3-inch display on the original Note) and a faster processor. If you're not interested in having the newest model, Carphone Warehouse currently has a special on the Galaxy Note and is selling the device for £21 per month on T-Mobile.

    Good.

Estimate about 2 Apple trolls coming right after this in 3...2...1...

  • This won't sell at all in the US. It doesn't match the awesome screen on the new iPad. It doesn't have 4G. So this is a fanboy toy for people that want to try out the stylus gimmick.

I mean seriously, how do you release a supposed "ipad competitor" (lol, sorry, makes me laugh) that doesn't even come close to matching specs? Oh this has 2GB of RAM...WHO CARES?

When do the Windows tablets come out again?

Yeah, I have seen the galaxy tabs at sams and costco. They are really unintuitive. They may have copied the look of Apple, but they definitely didn't get the feel. From a distance, they look like iPads, but as soon as you try to use one, you can definitely tell that they fall well short of the iPad, both in style and in function.

Any artists looking to draw with the Note 10.1 should check out LayerPaint. It's the only app I've found that actually has perfect palm and touch blocking when drawing. You still use your fingers to zoom and pan, but the program ignores all single touches with a quick setting toggle. Very very handy! It has full pressure sensitivity support too. It'd be nice if there were more brush configuration options, a lasso tool, and a resize tool though.

Oh for goodness sake! I'm tired of reading about what's going to be released in every other country instead of America!

What I'm really hoping for is that the Galaxy Note 2 is released in the U.S. and available on the Verizon network!

Hahaha! I love the comments made by the Apple fan-bois...you can tell they never owned anything android...Apple fan-bois...hahahaha!
