LG's Optimus G2 hasn't been confirmed, but the hype machine is in over drive for this phone. The successor to the G2 will likely be announced at a New York event that's already scheduled for August 7. However, LG hasn't confirmed that the G2 is the phone we'll be seeing in four weeks' time. However, the company is more than happy to drop hints.
This past weekend, we got another big one. In fact, we'd go so far as to say it's closer to a confirmation than a hint. LG released a video clip showing a trip around various New York City landmarks. Everywhere the camera goes, it finds a sign that reads, "To me, you are perfect. G." The video ends with a title card that offers details of the August event and the tag line, "Great 2 Have You!"
Subtle, LG. Really, really subtle.
We've already heard the phone will pack a full 1080p HD 5-inch display as well as a 2.3 GHz quad-core CPU and 2 GB of RAM.
