PopCap Announces Release Window for Plants vs. Zombies 2

If you've been itching for some yard-protecting, sunflower growing, zombie smashing fun, you'll be pleased to learn that PopCap has officially announced the sequel to its mobile gaming hit, Plants vs. Zombies. After nabbing its Game of the Year title and making its rounds across multiple gaming platforms, Plants vs. Zombies has had players yearning of a sequel for years.

Unfortunately, no additional details on the game have been released other than its Spring 2013 release date, but PopCap has released a few comments from the game's citizens:

“Spring is crullest curlie ungood time, and plantz grow dull roots,” noted an unidentified spokesperson. “So, we are meating you for brainz at yore house. No worry to skedule schedlue plan… we're freee anytime. We'll find you.” “There was a time we relished a bracing, hearty blend of zombies, in the morning,” said Sonny F. Lower, a representative of the Flora Forever Foundation. “But first, a brisk shower and some strategic pruning are required. Tomorrow is near!”

Stay tuned for more updates as they become available. Until then, you can hone your zombie killing strategies on one of the many offered platforms at PopCap Games.

Too bad they were acquired by Zynga. Expect this to look like a Sims ripoff shortly...

They were acquired by EA last years. So, they won't be ripping off another EA game, however don't be surprised if we start seeing yearly updates to popular PopCap franchises (i.e. PvZ 4: Modern Yard Defense, a couple years down the road).

I want to see Plants Vs Zombies version, where geeks get horded by windows 8 updates and Windows 8 release, then they need to collect buffs like windows 7 SP, Apple gadgets, Linux/Android stuff.. Someone make it so all us gamers can buy or downlod it free just to make statement as how much we hate Windows 8, and prefer to stay on Win 7, or change OS to competition if we are forced to do so.
