Bill Gates Loses His ''World's Richest Man'' Title
Bill Gates has once again been bumped out of the top spot on Forbes' rich list.
Forbes has released its list of the richest people on Earth and tycoon Carlos Slim has nabbed the top spot meaning Bill Gates is no longer the richest man in the world. According to Forbes, Bill has been the world's richest man for 14 of the last 15 years previous. The title was awarded to Warren Buffet in 2008, but Bill came back to take the top spot in 2009.
So who's the new guy? Carlos Slim is a 70-year-old Mexican telecoms mogul who placed third on last year's list. Slim boasts a net worth of $53.5 billion and owns a $23 billion stake in America Movil. Shares for AM were up 35 percent in a year and in the last 12 months alone, Slim's fortune has risen by $18.5 billion.
Bill Gates is currently worth $53 billion, up $13 billion in the last 12 months, and Warren Buffet's fortune jumped $10 billion to $47 billion.

necronic How are they all up 20% in the last year? Does that take into account losses the year before or what?Reply -
RooD I hope he jumps the border and gives me some cash...Reply
In all seriousness though people that rich make me mad when there are people starving even in their own countries... also if you look at it they most likely are not the "richest" alot of people (CEO's) use their business to write off all of their stuff as expense aka the companies money is theirs so they dont get too much notice on how much cash they have -
Clue: for a 2Mb connection we pay (TELMEX-Slim) 600 pesos (48 USD) per month. The fastets connection Carlos Slim offer is 5Mb for 80 USD.Reply
Ah, and TELMEX is the only real Internet company in Mexico (real= is available out of the principal cities). -
rockstone1 It keeps changing, and declining.Reply
Also- Bill Gates donatated alot of his money to charity. -
smithereen I'll bet he's upset. Somebody has $500M more than him.Reply
Good for them. They didn't all start with nothing, but they certainly deserved their success.
