So I guess kill-cams should be patented by Activision then?

Too many "software" patents are basically trying to patent algorithms/math.

Patents are so broke. It's about cashing in and nothing to do with protecting property any more.
Shame on Blizzard wanting to be pricks like Pubg wankers.

The Patent System is already Abused .. it is turning from protecting people ideas into stopping people from innovation which is really wrong.

Imagine Patenting the whole First Person Shooter idea ? no one should be granted patents on wide use Ideas AT ALL.

Patents are simply another absurd farce that lawyers sell to their victims, er, clients.
Our great President has lawyers, for a time. I avoid them. I am old and know nothing ;)

Would be hard for them to win though especially with games like TF2 or older ones that have had these in place for a decade or so.

Damn TF2 is 10 years old......

Maybe Blizzard will patent it and then make it "free for commercial use" so that patent trolls can't pick it up later.

This is so pathetic. They should patent their brains... oh wait. Blizzard already went full retard when they patented "Cataclysm" for their WOW expansion and because of that creators of Homeworld Cataclysm had to change name to Homeworld Emergency...

The whole patent law is cesspool of idiocies, unlimited patents extended to end of world and one day later, companies buying out patents just to do patent trolling and espionage, everything that instead of protecting intellectual rights only hurts development, innovation and creativity.

If Apple can put a patent on shapes, what's to stop this from happening?

It's like when Dr. Evil invented the question mark.
