GameStick Lands First Major Publisher Deal With Ubisoft

As our own Kevin Parrish wrote last week, 2013 has been The Year of the Android Micro Console. A healthy combination of KickStarter and Android has brought us the Ouya and the GameStick, while companies like Mad Catz and Nvidia have their own Android solutions.

The principal concern with these micro consoles is content. In a fight between Ouya and GameStick, Kevin declared Ouya the winner because GameStick but said that could change as GameStick adds more titles to its roster. This week, PlayJam, the company behind GameStick, announced its first major publisher deal with Ubisoft.

Engadget reports that Prince of Persia will be coming to GameStick, though The Shadow and the Flame doesn't have an official release date yet. PlayJam has said there will be partnerships with other big name publishers soon, so hopefully GameStick users will have enough to keep them busy in the meantime.

"In a fight between Ouya and GameStick, Kevin declared Ouya the winner because GameStick but said that could change as GameStick adds more titles to its roster." Huh?

Other than that, interesting that they are still around. Haven't heard about them for awhile.
