LG G2 Hits UK Priced Under £500 Unlocked
The LG G2 is launching in the United Kingdom.
Announced in early August, the UK has been waiting a while for the LG G2. Released on September 12 in the United States, the G2 is actually still in the process of rolling out across carriers in the U.S. However, it looks like customers in the UK are finally going to catch sight of the follow up to the Optimus G.
Crave UK reports that Unlocked Mobiles, Handtec, and MobiCity are all selling the device unlocked. Unlocked Mobiles has the highest price tag, charging £490 for the phone (unlocked) and a free case. Handtec is charging £462, while MobiCity is asking £473. Of course, if you're not cool with the idea of coughing up almost £500 for a new phone, you can get on contract and get a nice, hefty subsidy from your carrier. Crave says Three and O2 are offering the LG G2 on contract.
The G2 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC clocked at 2.26 GHz, a 5.2 inch IPS screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution (423 ppi), 2 GB of LPDDR3 800 MHz memory, and internal storage capacities of 16 GB and 32 GB. There's also a 13MP camera on the back equipped with Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) technology, a 2.1MP camera on the front, and a 3,000 mAh battery.

badvok66 "and get a nice, hefty subsidy from your carrier", FYI, UK carriers have not offered subsidies for a long time now, the contract deals are simple monthly payment plans.Reply -
gopher1369 Yeah, exactly what Badvok says. Almost no-one in the UK pays anything upfront for phones, they are free at the point of sale. Then we pay ~£30 a month over 2 years to cover the cost of the phone + contract. It's basically interest free credit.Reply
