After weeks of teasing through tweets, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has officially announced the next Mortal Kombat. "The name of the game is "Mortal Kombat X," stated Boon on his Twitter.
For the last month, Boon has been dropping hints about this game. One of the hints was a series of countdown tweets, that stated, "Square root of 841" and "How many days in (non-leap-year) February? The answer to the former is 29, and the answer to the latter is 28. Now, exactly 29 days since Boon has made those tweets (on May 4th), he's announced the game.
Mortal Kombat X will be coming to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and the PC. Apparently, this entry in the series will have an online portion that will feature a "persistent online contest where every fighter matters in a global battle for supremacy."
