Toshiba CEO: SED cannot compete against LCD

published Atsutoshi Nishida, president and CEO of Toshiba, recently admitted that SED (surface conduction electron emitter display) TV is not able to compete against LCD TV due to a high price level and limited shipments, according to a Japanese-language report in Mainichi Newspapers.
Nishida also stated SED TV will target the business market in the future and the CEO has revised his forecast made in 2004 that SED TV will grab 20-30% of global 50" and-larger flat-panel TV market, the paper said.
