Blizzard recently reported that a pre-Warlords of Draenor patch will allow subscribers to undelete their characters in World of Warcraft. That also includes the character's carried items, gems and enchantments. However, there are a few catches, one of which is that customers can only resurrect deleted characters once every 30 days.
According to the company, players can't undelete characters under level 10 or Death Knights at level 55. Players also can't undelete characters between level 10 and level 29 if 90 days have passed. If 120 days have passed, characters of level 30 to level 49 cannot be undeleted, either.
So what can be undeleted? Blizzard reveals that all characters that are level 50 and above can be undeleted at any time. The company also states that the names of deleted characters will be retained for a limited time, and players are allowed to use those names on new characters during that time period.
"If you create a new character with the same name as one of your deleted characters (let's say Flugur), the new character must be renamed, transferred, or deleted to complete the restoration of the original Flugur," the blog said.
One of the questions Blizzard received after the blog was posted asked if this new undelete function can bring characters back to life if years have passed. One GM provided an answer, saying that "it may be likely depending on how high the character was before deletion."
The character undelete function arrives just before Warlords of Draenor launches on November 13. The new expansion pack raises the level cap to 100, and it allows players to boost the level of one character to level 90 for free. The boosted character will also receive a level-appropriate set of gear along with some other assistance. As of February, players wanting to raise the level of other characters to 90 will have to pay $60 for each.
Back in September, Blizzard released the minimum and recommended system requirements for the new expansion, which can be accessed here (Mac specs included). The minimum specs require an Intel Core2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom X3 8750 processor; an Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT, AMD Radeon HD 4850 or Intel HD Graphics 3000 GPU; 2 GB of RAM; a 1024 x 768 minimum resolution; 35 GB of hard drive space; and a broadband Internet connection.
