Motorola Ad Pokes Fun at Apple's Maps Problems

This week, Motorola has taken a leaf out of Samsung's book and released an image openly mocking Apple. While Samsung prefers make fun of the iPhone 5 and Apple fans that line up for the company's newest devices, Motorola is taking aim at Apple's brand new mapping application that comes bundled with iOS 6.

Cupertino hasn't had an easy time with Apple Maps. The replacement for Google Maps, the application isn't exactly bug free. Yesterday, Motorola released the following image via its Twitter account. "Google Maps reports live traffic to be as helpful as possible so you don't feel #iLost planning your trip," the accompanying tweet read.

Motorola isn't alone in taking a shot at Apple Maps. A London Underground worker last week made headlines with his sign offering iOS 6 users local area maps. Apple has released a statement regarding the issues with Maps. Speaking to All Things D, the company explained that it will take time for Maps to improve

"We are excited to offer this service with innovative new features like Flyover and Siri integration, and free turn by turn navigation," Apple told All Things D. "We launched this new map service knowing that it is a major initiative and we are just getting started with it. We are continuously improving it, and as Maps is a crowd-based solution, the more people use it, the better it will get. We're also working with developers to integrate some of the amazing transit apps in the App Store into iOS Maps. We appreciate all of the customer feedback and are working hard to make the customer experience even better."

Google's Eric Schmidt this morning quashed rumors that his company had a version of Google Maps for iOS 6 ready to be approved, telling Reuters, "We have not done anything yet."
