Valve's sent over a quick email announcing that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is now available for the PC and Mac via Steam, with the North American PlayStation Network launch and worldwide Xbox Live Arcade launch happening later tonight and tomorrow morning. For those who didn't pre-purchase the PC game, it now costs $14.99 USD and can be obtained here.
"Today marks an important milestone in the development of CS:GO," the company said on the official website. "With the launch of the game, our work can continue with feedback from the entire Counter-Strike community. Since CS:GO is still evolving, make sure to give us your thoughts and feedback."
Valve also threw together a chart (jpg) showing how many players participated in the CS:GO beta, how many items were purchased, how many bullets were fired, how many in-game dollars were spent, and so on. The chart also shows that the more popular weapons used in the beta included the Desert Eagle, the M4A1, the AK-47, and the AWP.
"In addition to testing the core gameplay of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the Counter-Strike community has spent the past months independently establishing competitive leagues and additional content for the new game," Valve said.
As reported on Monday, a Zombie Mod developed by Plague Fest has launched alongside CS:GO, a living dead shootfest for the PC version. For those already loaded up and ready to play, the undead are walking around at zego.plaguefest.com or 216.245.221.139:27015 for your fragging pleasure.
"If you are new to CS:GO, make sure to join one of the many leagues or competitive tournaments popping up, such as Go4CSGO," Valve said. "If you are starting a league or tournament, let us know so we can spread the word. The pro-teams are already geared up for both the upcoming ESWC qualifiers and at DreamHack with more to come."
