Looking for a way to earn a few extra bucks quick? Why not sell your Steam account on eBay? Known as "dave311freak," that's exactly what one gamer did, and managed to rack in a whopping $1000 as a result. While that may sound like a lot of money to those with empty pockets, the original owner actually lost big bucks on the deal.
According to Destructoid, the auction was originally announced in a YouTube video, but that has now been removed. The clip supposedly showed the account's 139 titles listed on the display including Grand Theft Auto IV, Modern Warfare 1 and 2, Borderlands, and many more... estimated around $2,700 USD. At first, he wanted at least $500 for everything, but eventually that doubled.
"This account has absolutely no bans on any of the games, is in good standing with VAC, and any one of the games can be downloaded at any time on any computer with Steam on it," Daivd wrote on the eBay description. "I will change all of the information in that account to the winner's email address and issue a password to the winner that he or she can change once they log in. I will also provide user account information for games that require additional credentials (Dragon Age for the DLC, Company of Heroes Account info, etc...)."
The seller goes on to say that he sold the account because he was spending too much time playing PC games, and wanted more time with family and friends. Since the purchase of the Steam account, two more account sellers have popped up on eBay, however their offerings aren't quite so robust.
