Intel is set to unveil a new technology which could change the way companies have to deal with heat issues in densely-packed server environments. Until recently, one of the main focuses of new server designs has been raw speed. However, cooling these densely-packed servers has become increasingly difficult and expensive.
The unveiling of a new power-saving technique dubbed Foxton Technology may make all the difference. Foxton manages the clock speed of the chip depending on the demands of the software being run on the server.
