Dell Announces 5-inch Android MID, the Streak

So far CES has been dominated by tablets. It's all touchscreen this and slate that, so this product from Dell is definitely keeping with the running theme we've been seeing over the last few days.

Dell has confirmed very little about the device but rumors and video from late last year show the device packing a 5-inch WVGA 800 x 480 touchscreen, 3G, Bluetooth, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, a microSD slot and a 1,300mAh battery. All this is running on Android 2.0.

Check out the video (complete with surprisingly pretty song) of the device below.

  • Had to watch it a second time since I couldn't get past the extra digit on the first round. Looks pretty sleek although he had problems with the double tap zoom

It seems like this phone would be too big to be practical for a lot of people. Personally, I would love it, just not sure if people want a 5 inch brick in their pockets. Although it is a very pretty 5 inch brick!

  • homrqtI love all these new phones popping up.I can just see it now......

Any day now they'll probably release a new phone that requires you to schedule an appointment where you go in, they cut out part of your skull, then install the phone, attaching it to your brain, then close you up and activate it.
