Valve's DotA 2 Will be Free-to-Play

In between Max Payne 3 and Diablo III, your wallet’s probably been hurting from the sheer amount that you’ve spent on games. If that’s the case, you should keep DotA 2 on your watch list. Valve’s confirmed that DotA 2 will be free-to-play at launch and has launched the DotA store in preparation for the game’s release.

Valve’s promised that the game won’t be pay-to-win. Rather, it will follow in the footsteps of Team Fortress 2 in selling vanity items. Valve also hopes that players will sell their own crafted items.

For now, be prepared for an influx of hat jokes for DotA 2.

But I don't want to play DOTA. Where is CSGO? How about HL2 Episode 3? I'm sure Valve will do a good job on DOTA 2, but it's not a game that I even remotely like, and everyone who plays it that I know gets really angry while playing it. It just doesn't look like fun. I'd rather spend more time in TF2.

Am I the only one who thinks DotT whenever I see DotA? Man, would I love to see a Day of the Tentacle sequel...

I love Day of the Tentacle! I always see "DotA" as DotT too. Haha.
Anyway, DoTA is going to be great. I've never played it but I've watched it.

I just saw DotT and thought RotT. Not quite as old school (I don't think), but still lots of fun for my early PC gaming.
