E3 2013: Titanfall Screens, Gameplay Footage

During EA's press event on Monday, the company debut Titanfall from Respawn Entertainment, slated for the two Xbox consoles and Windows PC in Spring 2014. The salivating audience was dosed with a huge amount of gameplay to leave every action fanatic glued to their screens and controllers. It's crafted by one of the co-creators of Call of Duty and other key developers behind the Call of Duty franchise, so prepared to be blown away. Oh, and it's entirely multiplayer, too.

"The universe of Titanfall juxtaposes small vs. giant, natural vs. industrial and man vs. machine," the company said. "The game drops players into a conflict between the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) and the Militia as elite Pilots. With the ability to shift back and forth between pilot and Titan, players will have the freedom to change tactics on the fly, attacking or escaping depending on the situation."

"In addition to infusing the multiplayer experience with cinematic flavor, we’ve been rethinking fundamental combat and movement in the genre," added Titanfall Game Director Steve Fukuda. "Titanfall is unique in the way that it places equal emphasis on two drastically different and new ways to move and fight in a first-person shooter. The intersection of the two is a big part of what give Titanfall its iconic identity."

Below is a video of the live gameplay shown during EA's press event, the official E3 trailer and a few screens. Shown above is a Titanfall giant with a moving head that greeted everyone at the door. Guess he was waiting to nuke anyone who brought booze into the event (and they DID check bags, too).

Looks really good! It reminds me strongly of the Anime "Full Metal Panic" with that armored suit called Armed Slave with that kinetic barrier against enemy bullets but the game seems to be nice!

@alidan That has to be one of the dumber statements I've seen today. Perhaps you're not familiar with how multiplayer works. Of course it's always online. It's hard to fit 31 other people into an XBOX.

What's going to make the game terrible is that EA has a hand in there.
