'Incursions' Expansion For 'The Division' Drops April 12, Introduces Loot Trading, Dark Zone Supply Drops

If you're still playing Tom Clancy's The Division, you can expect a new wave of content to arrive in less than two weeks. Incursions is the first of two free expansions coming to the game, and it includes new gear sets, missions and Dark Zone content to keep you hooked on the game.

The focus of Incursions is squad-based gameplay, and the expansion's main attraction is the "Falcon Lost" mission, which is best suited for players who reached the maximum character level. You can choose to go through the mission in Hard Mode, which is for players whose total gear level is 31 (this new update also allows you to increase your gear level past level 30), or you can try the even tougher Challenge Mode. In this difficulty, it's important that your entire squad doesn't die, if that happens your team will have to start the entire mission again. As a reward for completing the mission, you and your squad will be rewarded with high-level loot, and you can play the mission multiple times to get more loot.

For the fans of the Dark Zone, the developers are adding Supply Drops, which contain uncontaminated loot, so you don't need to extract it. However, you might have to fight the other squads that are trying to get its contents as well. If that wasn't hard enough, the drop is initially protected by a group of tough enemies, so you'll need to get through them first before you reap the rewards. If you die, you'll have the option to enter a camera mode where you follow your teammates, so as to provide them with support as they continue the fight without you.

You'll also get daily Assignments, an extra set of side quests, which provide you with additional rewards such as Division Tech Points or Phoenix Credits, and the update includes loot-trading, so you can swap items with your friends. Finally, Ubisoft increased the arsenal of your enemies by adding drones and even a bullet-proof truck, so you'll have to think of new ways to take out your foes.

Incursions is set to release on April 12 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The other free expansion is titled Conflict, which opens up a new mission in Columbus Circle and adds more features to the Dark Zone.

Supply drops should have been in the original game. Glad to see this expansion does not have the 1 month playstation exclusive.

not interested until they fix the bloody crossfire texture flickering issues and give an interface to exit the game when it fails to connect to the server instead of having to alt-tab out when these stupid MIKE or wutever error messages popup

This update will also fix the "Load Screen of Death" which has locked some player out of the game since the launch date.

"Supply Drops" should be renamed, "Camping Ho, sniper griefing hotspots". No sane player is going to engage the NPC's first. That's just putting a big fat target on your back for the other a$$hats... er, I mean... players in the DZ.

Double quoted for the "lols". Seriously I considered myself pretty casual when it came to The Division and I ran out of shit to do in about a week and a half.

Also I'll be slaying demons and gathering souls on the 11th/12th. so maybe I'll play it that weekend?
