MSI Announces the H81-P33 ATX Motherboard

MSI has announced the H81-P33, an ATX sized motherboard that is based on Intel's entry level H81 chipset and offers a 6-phase VRM, a LGA1150 socket and an AMI UEFI BIOS with support for Windows 8's fast boot functionality.

The H81-P33 features two DDR3 DIMMs that support up to 32 GB of DDR3-1600 MHz, a single PCIe 2.0 x 16 slot (PCIe 3.0 is not supported by the H81 chipset), two PCIe 2.0 x1 slots and three legacy PCI connectors. With regards to connectivity, the motherboard includes Gigabit Ethernet, two PS/2 connectors, two USB 3.0 ports and four USB 2.0 ports, 6-channel HD audio, and dual-link DVI and VGA outputs.

Although the MSI H81-P33 has not been formally priced at the time of writing, we fully expect this budget motherboard to be priced at $100 or less.

Entry level or not, 2 DIMM slots on a full ATX motherboard in this day and age is nothing short of inexcusable...

Still probably going to be ridiculously priced in comparison to AMD motherboards.

Is there really any point in ATX in these kinds of builds?

This should be around 60-70 dollars. Any more expensive and no one will buy it. Seriously MSI? Only 2 RAM Slots? Definitely No!
