Check Out The Launch Trailer For 'Watch Dogs 2'
Time flies in game development. Two months ago, I had the chance to try out a pre-release build of Watch Dogs 2. Next week, the game will be available on the PS4 and Xbox One. As such, Ubisoft released the game’s launch trailer less than a week prior to release.
Once again, the footage centers on Marcus Holloway, the game’s protagonist. After the ctOS system in the Bay Area links Holloway to a crime that he didn’t commit, he decides to join Dedsec and take down the system. However, he needs more computing power to destroy ctOS. By accruing followers through the Dedsec app, Holloway can use a multitude of devices to fight the Big Brother-like system that has a watchful eye on the Bay Area.
With Dedsec posing a serious threat to public order, the cops and the Blume Corporation (the company that created ctOS) will be on the lookout for Holloway. However, he has many tools at his disposal, such as the ability to hack cars, control a drone and even 3D-printed weapons.
In my extended preview of the game, I praised its ability to allow you to approach a mission in multiple ways. You can go in guns blazing, take out enemies non-lethally or even hack your way into an area without shooting a weapon. However, the glaring problem in the new game is its open-world content. There aren’t enough activities in the area to distract you from the main storyline. With such a massive world for Watch Dogs 2, it would seem that Ubisoft Montreal skimped on the side activities in the Bay Area.
If you’re playing the game on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, you can play Watch Dogs 2 next week on November 15. For those on the PC, you’ll have to wait until November 29.
