Epic Shows off Unreal Engine 3 Running on iPhone

The Unreal Engine has successfully cracked into the console space in a big way. Now the games engine, once exclusively a PC-based engine, is powering many blockbuster titles on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Now the Unreal Engine 3 has made its way to the iPhone.

Our friends at AnandTech visited their local Epic Games studios and grabbed a sneak peek at Unreal Engine running on an iPod Touch third-gen, which means it will also run similarly on an iPhone 3GS.

Epic said that the demo doesn't mean that it, or its licensing partners, are breaking into iPhone game development, but it does show off what is possible on the little pocketable device.

Epic also said that it will be demonstrating the Unreal Engine on another mobile platform at CES, so stay tuned!

I expected the video to be a demo of what the article was talking about.

    It's an AT&T ad?

Well, Soldier37, since you asked so nicely:

I guess the postcards symbolize whatever is left of Luke Wilson's career, as he throws it away...

(though frankly I couldn't care less about AT&T as I don't live in the US)
