Razer's StarCraft II Mouse, Keys Look Awesome
Razor is releasing StarCraft II-themed peripherals in Q3 2010.
Tuesday during E3 2010, Razer introduced a suite of peripherals designed specifically for Blizzard's upcoming sci-fi themed RTS PC game, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. Featuring a mouse, keyboard, and headset, the exclusive line attempts to capture the look and feel of StarCraft II by incorporating elements from the game such as the color theme (grays, blues) and blocky-yet-futuristic design (if not looking a little Tron-ish).
"We are all huge StarCraft players here at Razer, so we are really excited to give gamers a first glimpse at the StarCraft II gaming peripherals," said Robert "Razerguy" Krakoff, president, Razer USA. "The peripherals were created with our newly developed APM (Actions-Per-Minute) Lighting System and feature a gaming-optimized design inspired by the StarCraft universe to complement the on-screen action."
The Razer Spectre StarCraft II Gaming Mouse, the Razer Marauder StarCraft II Gaming Keyboard, and the Razer Banshee StarCraft II Gaming Heatset features an Actions-Per-Minute (APM) Lighting System that actually provides the player with feedback on performance. With tournament gameplay in mind, the mouse also features a 5600 DPI Razer Precision 3.5 G laser sensor, and a 1000 Hz ultrapolling/1 ms response. The keyboard is also tournament-ready, enhanced with elevated keys and a dedicated on-the-fly macro recording system.
As for pricing, these peripherals won't come cheap. The mouse will retail for $79.99 USD, and the keyboard will retail for a heftier $119.99 USD. The headset--which features a detachable microphone and a configuration utility for customized volume levels--will retail for $119.99 USD. All three will be available in Q3 2010.
