Report: Amazon France Lists Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC

PC ports of Rockstar's games have always been iffy. Though the past few Grand Theft Auto titles, L.A. Noire, and Max Payne 3 have all made it onto the PC, only the last managed to make it onto the PC platform in a timely manner. Even then, Max Payne 3's port to PC was due to the legacy of its predecessors.

Back in October 2012, Rockstar announced that Grand Theft Auto V would be touching down in Spring 2013. Unfortunately, though the title was confirmed for Xbox 360 and PS3, Rockstar neglected to mention anything about a PC release. Concerned fans put together a petition on Change.org for a PC release, which has garnered over 146,000 signatures so far.

There may be hope yet. Recently, Grand Theft Auto V for PC was spotted on Amazon.fr. Though Amazon listings aren't the most reliable source, the listing has remained there for quite a few days and has yet to be removed. Though it doesn't serve as any official confirmation, it certainly is a good sign.

This is not uncommon. Sites not only list games with estimated release dates, sometimes they list them in anticipation of a release that isn't guaranteed to come at all. This happened with Skullgirls as well, which was available for pre-purchase and due for a July 2012 release; as it stands now, the game probably won't be out until 2014 if ever.

Wouldn't get your hopes up too much. At least, not based on this article.

  • Sure wish they would design games for PC first then port it to crap consoles. Sadly only a handful of pc gamers when compared to console kiddies numbers. BF3 and upcoming Crysis 3 are exceptions.

GTA 2 was fun. GTA 3 was new and different. GTA Vice City was fun and was visually appealing. GTA San Andreis was boring. Didn't even bother with GTA 4. I can only imagine the slow boring buggy nature of GTA V...

Still waiting for Tie Fighter 2... If we got a Duke Nukem forever after a dozen years, I am still going to hold out hope for a return of the best space sim series of all time...

I seriously don't get why everyone hated GTA IV, i thought it was absolutely brilliant.

I am constantly finding myself going back to it to explore the city, it's just so beautiful when you have a really good look at it.

virtualbanI hope the driving is better than in GTA4. GTA-SA had a very enjoyable driving. San Andreas driving was fun, but also ridiculous at the same time. Now IV had an amazing driving system if you knew how to drive in it.

If they change the physics to that something resembles San Andreas, i'll be sad :(

ankit0x1we dont need GTA...if it comes like bad Gta4 port or half hearted attempt ....I honestly find the Saints Row games far more enjoyable than any of the grand theft auto's

BF3 and upcoming Crysis 3 are exceptions. What about all the indie games the places where games actually have differences in them. Over the past few years I found more enjoyment and in the games I found in anything released by publishers barring Saints Row, aside from Saints Row I believe the most recent game I bought that wasn't in the was crysis and that was for two dollars.trumpeter1994Still waiting in hope for a PC port of Red Dead Redemption....you will get that when someone perfects the 360 emulator

Okay my complaints about grand theft auto 4.

The one thing I hate the most in the grand theft auto games is the inconsistent difficulty levels. One moment I'm completely bored with the game because it's just too easy drive from point a to point B unopposed and missions over, next mission might be the hardest damn thing in the game. I quit playing Grand Theft Auto 4 maybe one fourth the way through it when it came to this one mission by had to pick up some cocaine and I believe I got a four star rating once the cocaine was picked up and I just quit I couldn't beat it with the controller it was too frustrating for me.

Grand theft auto San Andreas, the open world game playing that game was frustrating for me. I just imagine it I'm what 10 years younger, I can remember when the game came up and I played it the year came out so whenever, I don't have a strategy guide, and I got this RC helicopter part of the game. For any of you who don't know this is what said to be the hardest mission in the whole game, and I beat it, was so happy when I beat. I go to school the next day and talk to some of my friends who had strategy guides, and I learned that that mission was required. I can't go any further with this story specifically otherwise I will receive a sanction for language, but needless to say I was so angry I didn't pick the game up again for about a month.

Now if you want to talk about driving in the grand theft auto games, every single one of them thinks that they have the past system for driving, in fact they think it's so good they want to show it off by making you race, and I can't tell you how many times I just stopped playing the game at the moment I have to race. Grand theft auto San Andreas basically lost me when it came to the race. I was one try away from giving up and I beat it, I don't know how but I did. That one win allowed me to keep going on just for a little bit longer.

You see these games aren't detailed enough to be simulation racing games, but the handling of the cars also isn't up to the quality of an arcade racing game, so you get this weird mix that somewhere in between and feels like hell no matter what. Even the Saints Row games fall into this category but for some reason the Saints Row games really do focus more arcade feel, and that is a godsend to these games.

Now if you want to talk about grand theft auto some more here's another one that always got me, the general feel of the combat. Keep in mind at the time of grand theft auto three vice city and San Andreas I didn't have a computer good enough to play these games so I was playing them on a console. Poor frame rates everywhere made me sick while I was playing the games, it's a common problem for me but it's what I think I need to mention so you know my mindset when I'm playing. The gun playing these games never felt good until Grand Theft Auto 4, at least on the console. None of these games were good at lock on and seeing as how lock on was required for consoles it was a major point of the game that just felt broken.

Now back to the cars again, anyone you drive with mentioned you suck it driving yet they keep making you drive the damn car. Here's the thing if I suck so much it driving why the hell doesn't the character who knows how to drive the car drive wow I shoot kind of like turret gameplay. There are so many points in these grand theft auto games where I can't keep playing them I suck too much it driving to actually advance the game, and they just took the driving out of my hand I could advance it just a little bit give me the choice to lead an AI drive the car driving in these games is not fun in the least.

I can go on and mention other graphical problems and their stupid vice city trails graphics setting but I won't I think I got my main points across.
