Deal of the Day: Buffalo DriveStation 1TB $60

Marcus Yam served as Tom's Hardware News Director during 2008-2014. He entered tech media in the late 90s and fondly remembers the days when an overclocked Celeron 300A and Voodoo2 SLI comprised a gaming rig with the ultimate street cred.

Don't buy WD; In the long run they only disappoint you.

There are better deals on better externals out there.

I think I've had drives from just about every manufacturer and my oldest one still in use is a WD so in the long run it is not at all disappointing. I don't even think this has a WD drive in it anyhow.

Maybe I'd buy if it had standalone network storage capability.
